NavLive
Handheld AI-LiDAR scanner that turns a building walkthrough into a RICS-grade floor plan in minutes
NavLive Radius is a handheld LiDAR scanner with onboard AI (SLAM) processing that captures RICS Grade 1:100 building surveys during a single walkthrough, generating 2D floor plans, elevations/sections, and 3D point clouds on-device, without waiting on a cloud upload. Scans sync to the NavLive Portal for measurement, review, and CAD/BIM export, or can be sent to NavLive's Scan2Plan service for professionally drafted drawings.
Why This Tool Exists
Producing an accurate floor plan of an existing building - for fit-out, refurbishment, feasibility studies, or facilities management - traditionally requires a surveyor with a total station or tape measure to spend one or more days on site, followed by additional office time drafting the results in CAD. Existing handheld 3D scanners often solve the capture step but still output raw point clouds that require separate manual CAD drafting before they are usable as a floor plan.
NavLive Radius combines a LiDAR sensor, three onboard HD cameras, and an embedded NVIDIA AI processor to run SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) locally on the device while a surveyor walks the building, producing RICS Grade 1:100 accurate 2D floor plans, sections/elevations, and a 3D point cloud within minutes of finishing the walkthrough. Scans upload to the NavLive Portal for browser-based measurement, annotation, and export to DWG/DXF/PDF/E57/LAS for Revit, AutoCAD, Archicad, or SketchUp; customers who want fully drafted architectural drawings rather than raw exports can pay for the Scan2Plan drafting service.
How You Use It
Data Transparency
Exactly what this tool uses and how
Not publicly documented - no public developer API was found. NavLive is delivered as a proprietary hardware scanner plus the NavLive Portal web app and a companion mobile app (published on Google Play as "NavLive"); CAD/BIM interoperability is handled through file export (DWG/DXF/E57/LAS) rather than a live API.Use Cases
- ·Existing-conditions building surveys ahead of office fit-out and refurbishment projects (vendor case study: ~80% reduction in survey and drawing time for BW)
- ·RICS Grade 1:100 measured surveys to support feasibility studies and property acquisition due diligence
- ·As-built documentation to verify construction progress against the design model
- ·Rapid floor-plan capture for large event/exhibition spaces (e.g., a 9,035m² floor at London Build 2025)
- ·Facilities and asset-management documentation for property developers and asset managers
