Worked example

Example
A reviewed project calculation gives a required straight-bar development length of 24 in., and the drawing provides 30 in. measured on the same basis. The ratio is 30 ÷ 24 = 1.25, with a 6 in. arithmetic margin. This comparison does not independently validate either length or the reinforcement detail.
