BotBuilt
Robotic factories that fabricate framing panels for offsite home construction
BotBuilt operates robot-equipped factories that convert architectural framing plans into wall panels, floor trusses, and roof trusses for residential (and some multifamily) construction, shipping pre-assembled components to job sites for rapid on-site assembly by the builder's own crew.
Why This Tool Exists
Residential framing is one of the most labor-intensive and dangerous phases of homebuilding: skilled framing crews are increasingly scarce, manual framing of a single-family house can take days to weeks, and framing labor typically costs $4-$10 per square foot with quality and output varying crew to crew.
BotBuilt digitizes a builder's 2D architectural plans into a 3D framing model (every stud, header, and nail placement), then feeds a panel-by-panel "digital book" of instructions to a two-robot, rail-mounted fabrication cell (repurposed from automotive manufacturing) that cuts, positions, and fastens wall panels, floor trusses, and roof trusses, using computer vision to adjust for lumber dimensional imperfections. Finished panels ship to the job site, where the company reports contractors can complete framing for a single-family house in roughly 2.5-5 hours of on-site assembly.
