The formula

Maximum daily matched reuse = min(permitted usable supply, eligible demand).
Daily surplus = supply − demand.
Storage ratio = provided storage ÷ engineered required storage.

Worked example

Example
With 80 gal/day permitted usable supply and 65 gal/day eligible demand, maximum matched reuse is 65 gal/day and arithmetic surplus is 15 gal/day. If engineered storage is 100 gal and 120 gal is provided, the ratio is 1.20.
