Solar-powered jobsite cameras with AI-driven safety, security, and progress intelligence

Sensera Systems makes solar-powered, cellular-connected construction cameras (fixed, PTZ, and dedicated security models) paired with SiteCloud, an AI software platform that scans captured jobsite images and video to flag safety hazards aligned to the OSHA Focus Four, track PPE and equipment, generate automated week-over-week progress summaries, and make archived footage searchable by event.

$27M Series B (closed Feb 26, 2026), led by The Atlantic Group (TAG) with participation from Egis Capital Partners and MUUS Asset Management/MUUS Climate Partners. An earlier, undisclosed-amount Series A closed August 2023 with Egis Capital Partners and MUUS. Cumulative total funding across all rounds is not consistently disclosed — third-party estimates range from ~$27M (ZoomInfo) to ~$37.2M (PitchBook). raisedEstablished
Founded 2012 · 2,200+ customers claimed (per company About page, 2026). Named enterprise customers confirmed via published case studies and press releases include PCL Construction (national enterprise agreement since December 2021, confirmed on PCL's own newsroom) and XL Construction. Funding total ($27M-$37M range) is modest relative to the "Established" tier's usual $50M+ benchmark, but 13+ years in market and a 2,200+ customer count support this stage over "Growth."

Why This Tool Exists

The Problem

Construction jobsites often have no permanent power or network before utilities are run, making early-phase security and progress monitoring hard to deploy. Once cameras are running, teams still spend hours manually reviewing footage to catch safety violations, theft, or schedule slippage after the fact rather than in real time.

The Solution

Sensera ships self-contained, solar-powered cameras with built-in 4G LTE connectivity that can be active from day one of a project, before utilities exist. Its SiteCloud software applies AI to the resulting image/video feeds to scan for OSHA Focus Four safety hazards, track PPE and equipment, push real-time text alerts, auto-generate written progress summaries from week-over-week image comparisons, and make archived footage searchable by event so teams spend less time scrubbing video.

Exactly what this tool uses and how

Input
What it needs
Required:Jobsite location for camera placement, Camera/system selection (fixed, PTZ, or security)
Optional:Existing Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud project for auto-sync of images, Safety/detection criteria configuration (PPE, fall hazards, etc.)
Formats:Live video stream, Time-lapse JPG/image sequences, MP4 video clips
Output
What you get
Format:SiteCloud web dashboard, mobile app views, and AI-generated summary reports
Fields:Live and time-lapse jobsite video/images, AI-detected safety events (OSHA Focus Four), PPE compliance flags, Equipment and delivery tracking events, AI-generated written progress and site-condition summaries, Searchable event index across archived footage
Algorithm
How it works
Model:Proprietary computer vision / AI (specific model architecture not publicly disclosed)
Accuracy:Not publicly specified — no independent accuracy, precision, or recall benchmarks published for detection or search features
Privacy
How your data is protected
Retention:Not publicly specified for active projects. Per Terms & Conditions, customers have up to 12 months after account/contract termination to download Image Data, after which Sensera has no further retention obligation absent a legal or litigation hold.
Training:Terms & Conditions grant Sensera a "non-exclusive, worldwide, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable license" to use, copy, modify, distribute, and process all Image Data — explicitly including to "perform data analysis, operate, train, develop, and improve AI Functionality and other artificial intelligence systems," both during and after the service term. Customers retain nominal title to Image Data, but the license granted to Sensera is broad.
Compliance:SOC 2 Type 2 certified (per vendor security page), "Builders' Risk Compliant" (per vendor security page), UL-certified, CSAA Five Diamond central station (for the monitored security-camera service), NDAA compliant (for the security monitoring service)
API
Integration
Endpoint:Available under a separate "API Access Agreement" referenced in section 4.10 of Sensera's Terms & Conditions; no public developer/API documentation portal was found
Method:Not publicly documented

Use Cases

  • ·Deploying solar-powered, cellular-connected jobsite cameras before permanent power or network utilities are run
  • ·AI-flagged safety monitoring aligned to the OSHA Focus Four (falls, struck-by, caught-in/between, electrocution) with real-time text alerts
  • ·Automated week-over-week AI-generated progress and site-condition summaries from time-lapse imagery
  • ·AI-powered search across archived jobsite footage to find specific events or objects without manual review
  • ·24/7 monitored site security and theft deterrence via a UL-certified, CSAA Five Diamond central station
